Platform Generalist
If you’re new to DR | globalCommerce, this is the program for you! This day-long crash course gives new users all the knowledge they need to make full use of globalCommerce’s major functional areas and the Command Console’s remote control tools. Each session surveys a specific area and then expands into real-world tactics and strategies for success. Detailed session objectives are listed below.

Session 1: System Overview
- Describe the basic structure of DR | globalCommerce
- Explain user security
- Describe major home page and system navigation components
- Understand release naming conventions
- Create a client user
Session 2: Consumer Experience
- Describe basic models for hosting clients
- Explain the basic order lifecycle and variations, including:
- Categories of payment methods
- Product delivery methods
- Specify the effects of changing locale
- Place a test order
- Navigate customer service screens
- Issue a refund on an order
Session 3: Product Basics
- Explain catalog and category structure
- Create and modify categories
- Delineate differences between individual and multiple products
- Specify how product IDs are used and where
- Create a basic product
- Describe locale v. language in regard to products
- Explain product statuses
- Deploy a product
- Understand additional product-related features, including:
- Product options
- Product templates
- Product import and export tools
Session 4: Merchandising Basics
- Define offer
- Define offer type and list those commonly used
- Describe points of promotion
- Explain offer arbitration
- Explain offer stacking
- Explain offer statuses
- Create a simple offer
- Deploy an offer
- Understand the merchandising import and export tool
- Describe programs and their uses
- Create a program
Session 5: Store Builder Basics
- Define and describe theme and style
- List the components of a style
- Understand additional store builder related features, including:
- Files
- HTML content pages
- Explain uses for various link parameters including:
- Program
- Offer
- Theme
- Locale
- Currency
- Delineate when links must be created through the system and when they may be created in bulk
- Create links
Session 6: Reporting Basics
- Define basic terminology related to reports, including:
- Net
- Gross

- Explain categories of reports and their features, including:
- Summary reports
- Program reports
- Customer and transaction detail reports
