Q: Who should attend Digital River University?
A: DRU is open to any client who actively uses DR | globalCommerce, as well those about to migrate or responsible for site policy decisions. Certification classes are great for those looking to improve their day-to-day usage of the system as well as taking their ecommerce business to the next level by really understanding what globalCommerce can do.
Q: How do I qualify for certification?
A: Attend all classes for a particular certification program and achieve an 80% average on all related assessments. Trainees who meet the attendance requirement, but do not achieve an 80% average will receive a Certificate of Completion.
Q: Should I take the programs in a particular order? Are there any prerequisites?
A: The Platform Generalist program is our most basic offering. This is recommended for all platform users.
A: Product Specialist and Marketing Specialist are our stand-alone advanced tracks. These may be taken in any order by certified Platform Generalists. Please note that additional system experience is recommended before taking the Marketing Specialist program. If you already have a great deal of platform experience but have not yet taken the Platform Generalist program, please speak with your account development manager for placement recommendations.
A: Store Builder Specialist is aimed at experienced site designers only. HTML and CSS coding experience are prerequisites for this program. The Platform Generalist program is a nice addition for web designers who may be assisting with product and offer design, but it is not a prerequisite for this program.\
Q: Are there minimum or maximum enrollments?
A: All classes are capped a maximum of 20 students to ensure personal attention. In addition, Digital River requires a minimum of 4 pre-registered students to offer a particular class.
Q: How long are certification programs?
A: Most programs require 7 hours of class time. Store Builder Specialist requires 5 hours.
Q: Are the training sessions hands-on?
A: All training sessions include a hands-on component. Bring a laptop if you’d like to follow along.
Q: Is DRU only open to summit attendees?
A: Any client with a site currently on DR | globalCommerce or soon to have a site on the platform is welcome to attend, regardless of attendance at the sales summit.
Q: What is the cost of a certification program?
A: Fees have been waived for the October 2008 session of Digital River University. This is normally a $595 value.
Q: What time do the classes begin and end?
A: The seminars begin at 9:00 am and conclude at 4:30 pm each day. There is registration from 8:00 am - 9:00 am at which time you can pick up your class materials. Store Builder Specialist concludes at 2:30.
